Welcome to District Three Athletics!

Due to COVID-19, we've had to create some temporary guidelines to ensure the safety of our students and staff during this time. Please take a look at the new guidelines before attending one of our games:
Due to adhering to strict safety protocols and meeting all requirements mandated by the SCHSL, Spartanburg School District Three will implement the following temporary guidelines. Seating Capacity •	Football Capacity: 600 Home and 600 Visitors •	Volleyball Capacity: 126 Home and 126 Visitors •	Middle School of Pacolet gym events: 48 Home and 28 Visitors •	Cowpens Middle School gym events: 50 Home and 40 Visitors If you are unable to attend, we will broadcast home varsity and junior varsity volleyball and varsity football on either Facebook live or YouTube.   Ticket Sales •	All tickets will be pre-sold prior to the event in groups of 2 or 4. NO tickets will be sold at the gate.  •	Due to the capacity limitations, temporarily we will not be able to honor SCHSL Passes, Employee Passes or Senior Citizens Passes.   •	Parents of athletes will be able to purchase season tickets.    •	Event tickets  Guidelines •	If you have had had a known exposure to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, have symptoms such as, cough, sore throat, fever, shortness of breath or loss of smell or taste please DO NOT ENTER THE FACILITY! •	If you are 65 years of age or older and have underlying health conditions including high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, sever obesity, asthma or weakened immunity, you may wish to refrain from entering the facilities •	Mask will be required at each event. •	Social Distancing will be required at each event. •	We must remain separate from visiting fans at all times. •	Our bleachers will be marked off in sections and you will be given directions on which section or seat is available. •	Every other stall will be available in the restrooms. •	Football Concessions will only be allowed to sale prepackaged items.   •	Hand sanitizer will be available throughout each facility •	If you feel ill during the contest, please notify an administrator on site.

A Message for Our Fans and Visitors

Spartanburg District Three is committed to the principles of good sportsmanship.  We believe that all student-athletes, coaches, and spectators should strive to represent the very best spirit and tradition of middle and high school ahtletics.  We encourage fans to enthusiastically support their team, recognize the outstanding performance of opponents, and always exhibit good sportsmanship in their words and actions.  We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner.

Any behavior that disrupts an event, including intimidating actions directed at officials, athletes, coaches, or team representatives, will lead to immediate removal from the competition site by school and law enforcement officials.  Individuals who are removed from a Spartanburg District Three athletic event will be banned from school property for 12 months or longer.

Guidelines for attending athletic events

Due to required social distancing requirements, BHS athletics must limit attendance during the volleyball scrimmage vs SHS on September 3, 2020.  

Only parents of volleyball players will be allowed in the gym.

Cross Country Practice Begins

Cross country practice starts Monday, August 24 at Broome High school at 3:30 pm. This is open to any interested 7th or 8th graders and all high school students.  Athletes must have a current physical and all essential paperwork in order to attend.  Transportation will be provided from the middle school to the high school, but you must have your own ride home. The group will meet at the field house down at the football field.  If you have any questions, please contact Coach Frye or Coach Ridgeway!

Girls' tennis practice begins today, August 17!

Girls' tennis practice begins today (August 17)! Tennis is open to any 7th-12th grade student who is interested. Please meet at the Gettys D. Broome High School tennis courts at 3:30 pm; practice will begin at 4 pm.

Transportation will be provided from the middle schools.

You need to have physical and paperwork on file. Please see the Athletic Director for more information!

Congratulations to our new coaches!

We would like to announce Coach Will Hickson as our new boys' basketball coach.  Coach Hickson was our assistant coach last year. Coach Hickson was the head basketball coach in Union County High School for 9 years and 4 years at Jonesville High School. 

We would also like to announce Coach Gavin Anderson as our assistant for girls' basketball and Coach Meagan Rhodes as our Junior Varsity girls' basketball coach.

Getting a middle school physical? Please click here for instructions!

iddle School Physicals will be on Friday, June 26 from 12:30-5:00 at Broome High School.  
If you will be going to Broome High School for a physical, please know:
Please park in the gym lobby area and come in through those lobby doors.
We request that a mask is worn in the building.  We will provide one if you do not have one.
Physicals cost $20 in cash.
Please make sure all of your paperwork is completed.  
We ask that no parents enter the building unless completing paperwork.

We are beginning Phase 1 of the South Carolina High School League’s 3-Phased Approach on Monday June 15, 2020 with Fall Varsity and JV athletes. The 3-phased approach for return to high school sports was designed by League Staff, SC Superintendents, member school Athletic Directors and Coaches, and the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. Senior Citizen Passes

Spartanburg School District Three Senior Citizen Passes will be available to residents who are 60 years or older for the 2019-2020 school year on August 1. Eligible persons will need to come to the District’s administrative offices located at 3535 Clifton Glendale Road, Spartanburg, to receive their pass.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Proof of residence and a valid I.D. must be presented at that time. The pass is good for events sponsored by any school within Spartanburg School District Three, and all athletic events.  

Playoff games are not included.
