Lowell L. Bryan Scholarship
Davidson’s Lowell L. Bryan Scholarship recognizes scholar athletes.  Two full tuition Lowell L. Bryan Scholarships will be awarded, one to a female athlete and one to a male athlete.  For consideration, you must participate in one of their eligible sports.  The deadline for nomination for the Lowell L. High School Heisman™ Award
The Heisman® High School Scholarship supports education, recognizes achievement, and celebrates male and female community-minded high school student athletes around the country. Seniors, if you strive for excellence in the classroom, on the playing field, and in your community apply for your chance to win the Heisman High School Scholarship ranging from $500 up to $5k for male and female senior scholar-athletes with high character. Horatio Alger Scholarship 
The Horatio Alger Association provides financial assistance to graduating seniors with a GPA of 2.0 or higher, have a significant financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.  The scholarships range in award value from $10,000 to $25,000.  One application is all that is necessary to apply for state, national, and specialized programs. Cooke College Scholarship Program
The Cooke College Scholarship Program is available to high-achieving high school seniors with a financial need.  This highly competitive scholarship includes up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school.  Students 
must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher.  Apply at  DEADLINE:  OCTOBER 30, 2020 AT 11:59 PM IN YOUR LOCAL TIME ZONE 

Coca-Cola Scholars Program
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Apply online at DEADLINE:  5:00 P.M. EASTERN ON OCTOBER 31, 2020



South Carolina Teaching Fellows
The SC Teaching Fellows Program is for students who are interested in teaching in South Carolina.  This program offers students up to $24,000 over four years.  Submit applications online at DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1, 2020

Davidson College – John M. Belk Scholarship
you are a senior and have applied to Davidson College or plan to apply, Davidson College offers the John M. Belk Scholarship recognizing students with academic excellence, a four-year scholarship covering tuition, fees, room and board. The deadline for nomination for the John M. Belk Scholarship is December 1, 2020.  Broome can only nominate two students.  SEE YOUR GUIDANCE COUNSELOR IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.  

Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund Scholarship
To apply for the Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund Scholarship you must be a high school senior planning to attend full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in SC, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and demonstrate a financial need.  This scholarship is for one year only.  Apply online at  

The Spartanburg Chapter (SC) of Links, Inc. & Denny’s Inc.
The Spartanburg Chapter (SC) of Links, Incorporated & Denny’s Incorporated will be awarding three (3) $1,000 Educational Scholarships to a qualifying African American Female high school senior.  You must be enrolled at a 4-year college or university and have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.  Come to Guidance for an application and details.  The scholarship needs to be mailed with your official transcript.  Return to Mrs. Gilmer in Guidance in order that your official transcript can be mailed to meet their deadline.  DEADLINE:  DECEMBER 11, 2020

Burger King® Scholars Program
High school seniors that plan to attend a two or four-year accredited university can apply for the Burger King® Scholars Program.  You must have a 2.5 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.  The Foundation will award up to $50,000 in scholarships to three students.  Apply at DEADLINE:  DECEMBER 15, 2020

Berea College’s Carter G. Woodson Legacy Scholar Award
Berea College’s Carter G. Woodson Legacy Scholar Award honors African American JUNIORS who are active in community, school, civic, and/or church organizations, demonstrate financial need, have a cumulative (unweighted) high school GPA of 3.25 or higher, the potential to score in the ACT range of 20-30 or SAT range of 1050-1410, and a household income of less than $40,000. NAFEPA (National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators) Scholarship Program
The purpose of the NAFEPA (National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators) Scholarship Program is to financially support post-secondary education for qualifying seniors attending their first year of college.  There are four scholarships, each worth $2,500 and they are non-renewable.  Two scholarships are for students pursuing degrees in education and the other two are for applicants pursuing degrees in Education or any other field. South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators (SCATA) is using the NAFEPA application to award its 18 scholarships in the spring of 2021.  Come to Guidance for an application and more details. South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship
The South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation offers a scholarship for SC high school seniors or an undergraduate in a SC college or university.  You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and have a competitive or recreational interest in golf.  Recipients must attend an accredited public or private four-year college or university located in SC in the fall of 2021. Apply online at  DEADLINE:  JANUARY 7, 2021

Bezos Scholars Program
The Bezos Scholars Program is a year-long leadership program, for high school juniors/rising seniors, that inspires and challenges young people to act on their passions and collaborate to address community needs. To be chosen as a Bezos Scholar students must be enrolled in, or have taken, one or more Honors or   Advanced Placement (AP) classes.  Apply online at  DEADLINE:  JANUARY 11, 2021

Coolidge Scholars Program for JUNIORS
The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study.  Any JUNIOR that plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2022 and is an American Citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply.  For details and to apply visit    

The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship
The American Legion Department of SC is sponsoring the Annual High School Oratorical Scholarship Program, A Constitutional Speech Contest,” for students presently enrolled in grades nine through twelve.  The purpose of The American Legion’s Oratorical Constitutional Speech Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States.  State finalists have the chance to earn a scholarship ranging from $750 to $2,500, with the winner going to the National contest and a chance to win up to $25,000.  Come to Guidance for details.  DEADLINE: January 26, 2021


South Carolina Association of Counties (SCAC) Scholarship
The South Carolina Association of Counties (SCAC) Scholarship Program will award one $2,500 scholarship to one Spartanburg County student planning to attend a South Carolina college, university, or two-year technical college in the fall. Come to Guidance for an application or apply online at  

James F. Byrnes Scholarship Program
The James F. Byrnes Scholarship Program is available to seniors who have lost one or both parents and who plan to seek a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university beginning in the fall of 2021.  The annual award of $4,500

Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union Scholarship
To be eligible for the Carolina Foothills Federal Credit Union Scholarship you must be enrolled, or plan to enroll for the 2021 academic year, as a full-time student in an accredited tech school, college or university and have a non-weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher. Visit  DEADLINE:  February 1, 2021

Jackie Robinson Foundation
The Jackie Robinson foundation Scholarship program addresses the financial needs of college students, provides extensive, hands-on mentoring, and support services. Once chosen from a national, selective application process, JRF Scholars receive a generous four-year grant to attend the undergraduate school of their choice and enroll in JRF's celebrated "42 Strategies for Success Curriculum."  The online application for the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is now available at DEADLINE:  February 1, 2021, 5 p.m. ET

The Silver Pen Writing Competition
The Silver Pen Writing Competition is hosted through Summit Hills retirement community and is open to graduating seniors that live or attend a school within 25 miles of Summit Hills.  There are three scholarship awards:  $2,500, $750, and $500. Alpha Beta Chapter Scholarship for Future Women Educators
The members of the Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa offer the Alpha Beta Chapter Scholarship for Future Women Educators, a scholarship for female seniors who will be pursuing a career in education.  The scholarship amount of $750 is renewable each year as long as the scholarship requirements are met.  Come to Guidance for details. 

Hampton Wildlife Fund Scholarships
The Hampton Wildlife Fund offers four scholarships to SC graduating seniors pursuing their education in:  the natural resources discipline, law enforcement/criminal justice/forensic science, or in print or photo journalism, advertising, public relations or mass communications.  Scholarship details and a fillable PDF application is available at 

Watson-Brown Foundation
The Watson-Brown Foundation operates one of the largest college scholarship programs in the state and plans to award 250 new scholarships for the 2020-2021 school year.  Students from 23 counties in Georgia and South Carolina are eligible to apply.  Scholarships are awarded on the basis of need, as well as merit, to students who plan to attend four-year, accredited, non-profit institutions.  The scholarships are $5,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate education. Students may apply online beginning at the end of October at  



Delventhal Law Office LLC® Scholarship
This scholarship is available to all high school seniors who are planning to enter the law field. It is a one-time award of $1,000. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend a four-year college/university or two-year community college for the fall of 2021. Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application. To apply visit  DEADLINE:  APRIL 15, 2021


PB & J Scholarship
The PB & J Scholarship is open to high school seniors that will be attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year college in the U.S. in the fall of 2021.  If you have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed you to perform well academically, but you still have the drive to succeed you may apply.  Visit to apply.
