Senior’s Scholarships- Honors Day Program
In order to have any/all scholarships you have received listed in the Honors Day Program, you must bring, mail, e-mail, or fax a copy of the scholarship awards letter to Stacy Mann in Guidance [email protected]; Phone: 864-279-6707, Fax: 864-279-6875). Be sure to include ALL scholarship letters you have been awarded, even if you will not be attending that college/university.  Award letters must include the college/university name, name of the scholarship, and the dollar amount of the scholarship. Also, provide the financial aid paperwork if you have it.  DEADLINE: EXTENDED UNTIL MAY 10, 2022

Wofford Scholars Program
The Wofford Scholars Program is Wofford’s largest merit-based scholarship.  Scholarships range from $60,000 - $250,000 over a four-year period.  To qualify you must be ranked in the top 10% of your class and have a combined SAT score of 1300 (Critical Reading and Math) or a 28 on the ACT. If you are interested in being nominated, see your Guidance Counselor.

North Greenville University’s Top Academic Scholarships
If you are interested in applying for North Greenville University’s top competitive academic scholarships, you must apply online at https://ngu.edu/admissions/financial-aid/undergraduate/. South Carolina Teaching Fellows
The SC Teaching Fellows Program is for students who are interested in teaching in South Carolina.  This program offers students up to $24,000 over four years.  Submit applications online at https://www.cerra.org/teaching-fellows.

Davidson College
Davidson College offers several scholarships, The John M. Belk Scholarship (deadline 12/1/21) and the Lowell L. Bryan Scholarship (deadline 9/28/21) are two of their largest scholarships. They also offer Access Davidson, which is designed for seniors from traditionally underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, those who are the first in their family to attend college, and students from rural or low-income backgrounds (deadline 9/27/21).  Visit [email protected] or call 800-768-0380 for more information.

Denny’s, Inc. and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Denny’s, Inc. have partnered to provide scholarships for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).  Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 are available for high school and college students that meet the criteria. The WTS Transportation YOU High School Scholarship
The local chapter of The Transportation YOU offers two $1,500 scholarships to graduating SENIORS currently studying math, science, and technology and considering a college degree in a transportation-related field. The local winners will advance to the WTS Foundation Scholarship Selection committee for consideration for a $2,500 scholarship. JANUARY

NAFEPA (National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators) Scholarship Program
The purpose of the NAFEPA (National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators) Scholarship Program is to financially support post-secondary education for qualifying seniors attending their first year of college.  There are four scholarships, each worth $2,500 and they are non-renewable.  Two scholarships are for students pursuing degrees in education and the other two are for applicants pursuing degrees in education or any other field. South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship
The South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation offers a scholarship for SC high school seniors or an undergraduate in a SC college or university.  You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and have a competitive or recreational interest in golf.  Recipients must attend an accredited public or private four-year college or university located in SC in the fall of 2022. Apply online at https://www.scholarshipprograms.org.  DEADLINE:  JANUARY 10, 2022

Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund Scholarship
To apply for the Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund Scholarship you must be a high school senior planning to attend full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in SC, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and demonstrate a financial need. This scholarship is for one year only.  Apply online at https://www.csascholars.org/kmfr.

The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship
The American Legion Department of SC is sponsoring the Annual High School Oratorical Scholarship Program, A Constitutional Speech Contest,” for students presently enrolled in grades nine through twelve. The purpose of the American Legion’s Oratorical Constitutional Speech Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States. Students can earn scholarships ranging from $750 to $25,000. If you are interested see Mr. Bramhall in the Guidance Department. DEADLINE:  January 14, 2022

Coolidge Scholars Program for JUNIORS
The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study.  Any JUNIOR that plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2023 and is an American Citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply. James F. Byrnes Scholarship Program
The James F. Hampton Wildlife Fund Scholarships
The Hampton Wildlife Fund offers four scholarships to SC graduating seniors:  The Harry HamptonWallace F. Pate, David M. Cline, and James O. Thomason Scholarships.  These scholarships are for seniors pursuing their education in:  the natural resources discipline, law enforcement/criminal justice/forensic science, or in print or photo journalism, advertising, public relations or mass communications.  The scholarship application and details are available at http://www.HamptonWildlifeFund.org/scholarship.html DEADLINE:  JANUARY 31, 2022


FEBRUARY

South Carolina Federal Credit Union Scholarship
The South Carolina Federal Credit Union Scholarship will award 9 scholarships, with denominations between $2,500 - $10,000.  You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and planning to attend a four-year college/university on a full-time basis or a specialized/ technical college/university on a part-time of full-time basis in SC on a full-time basis for the fall 2022 semester. Laurens Electric Cooperative Virtual Youth Experience
Laurens Electric Cooperative, Inc. Virtual Youth Experience offers current 10th and 11th grade students the opportunity to learn about cooperatives, hear from public figures, and compete for $5,000 college scholarships. Students who reside within the cooperative’s service area (Laurens, Spartanburg, Greenville, Anderson, Abbeville, Newberry, and Union counties) are eligible to apply. Watson-Brown Foundation
The Watson-Brown Foundation operates one of the largest college scholarship programs in the state and plans to award 250+ new scholarships for the 2022-2023 school year.  Students residing in 23 counties across Georgia and South Carolina are eligible to apply.  Scholarships are awarded based on need, as well as merit, to students who attend four-year, accredited, non-profit institutions.  The scholarships are $5,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate education. Students may apply online at

Spartanburg Methodist College FAFSA Night
Spartanburg Methodist college is hosting a free FAFSA night on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. for future students and their families. Admissions and Financial Aid counselors will aid in completing and sending your FAFSA to up to ten colleges.  Completing the FAFSA by the February 14th priority deadline means having the best chance of getting the most amount of money available.  To attend register at Financial Aid Events (smcsc.edu).

The Silver Pen Writing Competition
The Silver Pen Writing Competition is hosted through Summit Hills retirement community and is open to graduating seniors that attend a school within 25 miles of Summit Hills.  There are three scholarship awards:  $2,500, $750, and $500. Sallie Mae Bridging the Dream Scholarships
The Bridging the Dream Scholarship for High School Seniors:  The Sallie Mae Fund will award (25) $10,000 Scholarships to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a two or four-year degree professional certificate, or vocational training program. Seniors who excel inside and outside of the classroom and demonstrate financial need can apply

Strong Men & Women in S.C. History Essay Contest
All South Carolina high school juniors and seniors are invited to submit a 500-word essay for a chance to receive an Apple MacBook Air and $1,000 for their school. Winning students will be invited to participate in the unveiling ceremony of the 2023 African American History Calendar, and their essays will be showcased on the Dominion Energy and SCDE websites.
Students are asked to write about an African American with ties to the Palmetto state who has been inspirational in their lives. Lander Junior Fellows Program
Lander is announcing its annual Junior Fellows Program.  If you rank in the top 20 percent of your class and have a 25 on the ACT or 1200 on the SAT or PSAT, you will qualify for potential scholarship money. You must have at least a 3.5 GPA and exemplify leadership in both academics and co-curricular activities.  If you are selected, you will attend Lander’s Junior Preview Day in April.  See Mrs. Clary in Guidance if you are interested.  DEADLINE: MARCH 4, 2022

AHAM (American Hispanic Women Association) Scholarship 
Candidates must be of Hispanic origin or descent (from a Spanish speaking country, first generation), have legal status in the USA, be accepted as a full-time student at an accredited university, technical college, or vocational school in the U.S. for the fall of 2022, have a GPA of 3.8 or higher, and family income no greater than $60,000.  Visit https://www.ahamsc.org or come to Guidance for an application and details. Suzannah Blackwell Memorial Scholarship
Current SC and NC High School Seniors who are current or former English Learners (ELs) and intend to continue their education at an accredited U.S. university or community college in the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to apply for the Suzannah Blackwell Memorial Scholarship. Erskine Fellows Program
Attention ALL Juniors! Erskine College would like to announce their Erskine Fellows program to juniors who excel academically and thrive outside of the classroom. Juniors must have a 3.0 unweighted GPA (4.0) scale and rank in the top 25% of their class with participation in extracurricular and community activities.  Erskine Fellows will be invited (pending their acceptance) to compete for the Presidential Scholarship, their largest and most prestigious scholarship. The Beta Mu Chapter Scholarship
The Beta Mu Chapter Scholarship is for graduating seniors that have been accepted by an institution of higher learning for the 2022-2023 school year.  Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and have a financial need.  COME TO GUIDANCE FOR AN APPLICATION. Spartanburg Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club Chapter
The philosophy of the National Association of Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers Motorcycle Club (NABSTMC) is to promote the history of African American Veterans, to be a role model for youth in their community, to support veterans, to uphold their standards, and to promote motorcycle safety in their community.  The Spartanburg Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club will award three (3) scholarships to seniors who will be attending a post-secondary or vocational/trade school in 2022. Horatio Alger Scholarship
As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. Applicants must demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required), maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, and be a United States citizen.  Juniors and seniors interested in applying should come to Guidance for more information or visit https://scholars.horatioalger.org/horatio-alger-scholarship-applications/ to apply. Bobby Chapman Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship
The Bobby Chapman Scholarship is to be awarded to a student who is a graduate (or soon will be) of a secondary school in the Southeastern United States and or participate in a prior Bobby Chapman Invitational.  The Scholarship Committee will only accept four applications per high school.  The scholarship program will select one recipient, renewing annually, for four years.  The student recipient may or may not be a golfer and must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.  Come to Guidance for details and an applicationDEADLINE:  THE APPLICATION MUST BE RETURNED TO MRS. Spartanburg County Anonymous Scholarship
The Spartanburg County Anonymous Scholarship is a four-year renewable scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating senior that will be attending an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.  Preference will be given to a student that will be a first-generation college attendee, and the student must demonstrate financial need.  Broome can only submit two applicants.  Come to Guidance for an application. Kiwanis Club of Spartanburg Scholarship
The Kiwanis Club of Spartanburg is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior from a Spartanburg County school.  The student must enroll in the fall at one of the following:  Wofford College, Converse College, USC Upstate, Spartanburg Methodist College, or Spartanburg Community College.  Student must have a financial need.  Only two applicants can be submitted from Broome.  Come to Guidance for an application.

The Croft Rescue Squad 18 Scholarship
The Croft Rescue Squad 18 Scholarship created this scholarship fund to give back to the community it served before closing in July 2010.  The recipient of this scholarship must be a graduating senior of Broome High School, Dorman High School, or Spartanburg High School pursuing any level of higher education.  The student must have lived one year or more in the communities of either Glendale, Croft, or Glenn Springs-Pauline Fire Districts.  Broome can only submit two applicants.  Applications are available in Guidance. South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Scholarships (SCCAWS)
South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports (SCCAWS) offers two scholarships to SC FEMALE senior athletes, one $1,000 scholarship to a female planning to major in the medical field and one $1,000 scholarship for a female planning to major in education.  Students must have a minimum composite score of 1000 on the SAT or a 22 on the ACT.  COME TO GUIDANCE FOR AN APPLICATION AND DETAILS.  DEADLINE:  APPLICATION AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE RETURNED TO MRS. Presbyterian Junior Scholars
Attention ALL Juniors! Presbyterian College would like to announce their PC Fellows Award Program to juniors who have any two of the following:
  •   One or more of the following test scores: 
    • PSAT (evidence-based reading, writing, and math) score of 1100 or higher
    • SAT (evidence-based reading, writing, and math) score of 1100 or higher
    • ACT Composite score of 22 or higher
  • Ranked in the top 10 percent of the current junior class
  • A weighted GPA of 3.5 or more

The Rev. Dr. Calvin Timothy Clark Scholarship
Holly Springs Baptist Church in Inman, SC, in recognition of Dr. Tim Clark’s
25 years of service to their congregation and community, has established this scholarship to be used by a high school senior who is planning to attend a four-year college or university for the fall semester of 2022 and major in a field of Christian Ministry.  Students must have demonstrated a current and on-going commitment to his/her church, community, and, most importantly, Jesus Christ. Mark Shaw Memorial Foundation Scholarship
The Mark Shaw Memorial Foundation Scholarship is open for all SC graduating seniors in Spartanburg County, however they would like to award at least one to a senior in Spartanburg County, Mark’s hometown.  This memorial scholarship was created by the family of Mark Shaw, who was a graduate of Byrnes High School Class of 2011. Mark passed away in 2017 and a nonprofit organization was created to commemorate his legacy. There will be two $2,500 scholarships awarded, one to a male and one to a female.  Finalists will be interviewed the first weekend in April.  Visit Google Forms: Sign-in for details and to apply.

USC Upstate Junior Scholars
Attention any JUNIORS interested in attending USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC should see Mrs. Clary in Guidance to determine if you are eligible for the USC Upstate Junior Scholar Award.  This award recognizes outstanding high school juniors for being academically talented, ranked in the top 25% of their class, and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.  In addition to the academic requirements, participation in extracurricular activities at school or in the community is a factor in being nominated.  DEADLINE: APRIL 1, 2022

Alpha Mu Chapter - Emily L. Martin Educational Incentive Grant
The Alpha Mu Chapter of the Delta Kappa Society International will award the Emily L. Martin Educational Incentive Grant in the amount of $700 to a female high school senior in Spartanburg County, who plans to attend a four-year college or university and major in education.  Students must be enrolled in or have taken the Teacher Cadet course.  Come to

Spartanburg County Clemson Club
The Spartanburg County Clemson Club will award two $1,000 scholarships to two graduating seniors from Spartanburg County public high schools, who will be enrolling as freshmen at Clemson University in the fall.  The scholarship must be used towards tuition, books, or other enrollment fees.  The Club will be awarding scholarships based on academic and leadership qualities demonstrated by the recipients.  Only students that have a financial need should apply.  Come to Guidance for an application. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated®

The Cannons Ruritan Club Scholarship is intended to aid a Broome High School student in furthering his/her education.  One scholarship will be awarded to a BHS student who plans to enter a college, junior college, or university after graduation. Converse College Junior Scholars Program
ATTENTION:  Any JUNIOR interested in attending Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, should see Mrs. Clary in Guidance to determine if you are eligible for the Converse College Junior Scholar Award.  You must be ambitious, creative, and eager. You should also have a 3.5 GPA or higher.  Converse College is now co-ed, so male students may also apply!

The Spartanburg Sigma Brotherhood is offering two $500.00 scholarships to MALES graduating in the class of 2022. Students must reside in Spartanburg County, have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and exemplify the principles of scholarship and service. Gail Swofford Hackett Scholarship
The Gail Swofford Hackett Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, will be awarded to a Broome High School senior desiring to pursue any level of higher education at a two year or four year accredited college or institution in the fall of 2022.  This student should not be receiving the honor of class valedictorian or salutatorian, but someone who demonstrates high moral character, a passion for learning, a balanced life, great potential, and have a financial need. Four Star Leadership Summer Program
Four Star Leadership is a world-class summer leadership program that accepts 
70 top high school students each year.  The program provides experiences and interaction with inspirational leaders, as well as a scholarship competition.  This opportunity is valued at $4,000 and is free of cost for selected students, including expenses, travel, and programming.  Four Star Leadership 2022 will be held July 10 – 14 in Oklahoma City.  Visit www.fourstarleader.com for details and to apply. Danny Allen Memorial Scholarship – Upstate Workforce Futures Corporation
The Upstate Workforce Futures Corporation - Danny Allen Memorial Scholarship will award a minimum of two (2) $750 Scholarship for the 2022 school year, to a senior who will attend college in a manufacturing, construction, or technology field. Nth Degree Orthodontics Health Science Scholarship
The Nth Degree Orthodontics Health Science Scholarship, previously named Nease & Higginbotham Orthodontics Health Science Scholarship, will award one $1,000 scholarship to a Broome student planning to pursue a degree in the Health Science field.  Preference will be given to a student pursuing a career as a dentist and secondary preference will be given to a student seeking a career as a physician, pharmacist, or optometrist.  Students pursuing a career in the allied health sciences (nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dental auxiliaries, etc.) will also be considered.  Preference is also given if you are a patient or have been a patient of Nth Degree Orthodontics.  Come to Guidance for an application and details. Coker College Junior Scholars
Attention: ALL Juniors! Coker College is announcing its annual Junior Scholars Program.  If you rank in the top 30 percent of your class and have a 24 on the ACT or 1100 on the SAT, you will qualify to apply to Coker this summer and will receive their merit-based scholarship upon acceptance.  You must have at least a 3.0 GPA or higher. Richard Shoemaker Memorial Scholarship
The Richard Shoemaker Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a Broome High School senior. Applicants should reflect many of the characteristics Mr. Shoemaker demonstrated during his career, community service, and life.  Student must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and committed to attend a post-secondary institution in the fall.  COME TO GUIDANCE FOR AN APPLICATION. BASF Scholarship
The Whitestone Community Advisory Panel/BASF Corporation will award two need-based scholarships, in the amount of $1,500 each, to two Broome seniors pursuing their education in STEM and/or Engineering.  Write or type a short essay with your college plans and college major and why you are pursuing a career in STEM and/or Engineering.  Also include in your statement any other scholarships you are receiving.  COME TO GUIANCE FOR AN APPLICATION.  RETURN TO MRS. Jack and Carolyn Linder Scholarship

Iris, Incorporated Scholarship Program

USC Union Scholarships
If you have applied and been accepted, as a degree seeking student, to USC Union and would like to be considered for a number of scholarships they offer, come to Guidance for an application.  Dually enrolled students must submit an Admissions Application as a degree seeking student and be accepted in order to be considered for a scholarship.

Be the First One Scholarship
Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors in the state of SC who have been impacted by a generational curse in their household and that are doing something to change it.  Students must be impacted by a systemic negative cycle in their family, such as alcoholism, drug abuse, divorce, mental and emotional abuse, poverty, domestic violence, or sexual abuse.  Students should be committed to becoming the first one, not the next one. Crowder Construction Company Scholarship
The Crowder Construction Company will award one $4,000.00 scholarship to a deserving senior who has a financial need and plans on pursuing their education at a post-secondary college/university, community college, or other post-secondary educational institution. Applicants should be active in supporting their community/school and must demonstrate an interest in a degree that will benefit communities or the environment. BMW Scholars Program & Information Session
The BMW Scholars Program is an apprenticeship program that partners with local area technical colleges. Students attend classes full-time while working part-time at BMW.  Students further their education while gaining valuable experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, with the potential to become candidates for full-time positions at BMW after successful completion of the program. PB&J Scholarship
The PB&J Scholarship is for SENIORS who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed.  There are no GPA requirements.  You must be planning to attend a two or four-year college in the fall of 2022. Spartanburg Methodist College Scholarship
South Carolina Students that qualify for the LIFE Scholarship are eligible for SMC’s Full Tuition Scholarship, regardless of income.  Your 3.0+ GPA means you will pay $0 in tuition costs at SMC. If you want to be considered for their full tuition scholarship, apply to SMC and complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by June 30, 2022.

Sallie Mae Completing the Dream Scholarships
The Completing the Dream Scholarship:  The Sallie Mae Fund will award (185) gap scholarships worth up to $2,500 each to minority students and those from underserved communities who are on track to graduate but are at-risk of not completing due to financial emergency or unpaid school bill.
