Gold Tassels
SENIORS that are eligible to purchase a gold tassel (3.5 GPA or higher) may come to Guidance to purchase.  They are now on sale for $ 5.00.  You may purchase only one. NO TASSELS WILL BE SOLD ON HONORS DAY/GRADUATION.

Urban League of the Upstate Senior Signing Day
The Urban League of the Upstate will be celebrating their 20th Annual Senior Signing Day! Spartanburg Community College FAFSA Completion Event
Spartanburg Community College will host a FAFSA Completion Event on Tuesday, May 11th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Downtown Campus.  If you have not completed your FAFSA, this will be a good opportunity to get the help you need and get all your questions answered. There will be a gift card raffle at each hour for families who come. 

South Carolina Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics Summer Camps
Applications are open for summer camp opportunities at the Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM) in Hartsville, SC, for rising 6th through 10th grade students.  They are offering a variety of interactive learning opportunities covering a wide variety of STEM disciplines. Because of the generous support and sponsorships from businesses, individuals, and foundations, this summer students accepted and enrolled in their CREATEng and iTEAMS day camp programs will receive a full scholarship that covers the camp fees.  For details and to apply visit https://www.scgssm.org/camps.  APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN AND FILLING QUICKLY. C-CATS-Clemson’s Challenge for Academically Talented Students
C-CATS, Clemson’s Challenge for Academically Talented Students is for students that will be in the 9th or 10th grade for the 2021-2022 school year.  C-CATS will be offering four C-CATS weekends in October and November 2021.  To be considered for the C-CATS program, students must be in the top 10% of their class and an academic record that predicts a score of 1300 or higher on the SAT.  Students must be nominated by their Guidance Counselor.  There is a cost of $300.  The C-CATS weekend sessions are in high demand and fill up quickly.  Come to Guidance for details or visit www.c-cats.org, or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/cuccats. Senior Scholarships and Awards
SENIORS:  As you receive awards and scholarships, please bring your award letters by the Guidance Office.  For the award to be listed in the Honors Day Program, the Guidance Office must receive your letters by Thursday, May 13th. Please bring ALL scholarships you have been awarded, even if it is from a school you have decided not to attend.  Please see Mrs. Sparks in the Guidance Office if you have any questions.

SMC Spring Enrollment Dates
Take care of your college to-do list during Spring Enrollment Days at Spartanburg Methodist College. Tour SMC's campus, get individual assistance with your application for admission or FAFSA (or both!), dine on campus, or all of the above. Summer Sessions at Wofford
Wofford College is offering two summer sessions for students that are interested in taking a summer class.  Come to Guidance for more information or call 864-597-4030.  

BMW Scholars Program & Information Session
The BMW Scholars Program is an apprenticeship program that partners with local area technical colleges. Students attend classes full-time while working part-time at BMW.  Students further their education while gaining valuable experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, with the potential to become candidates for full-time positions at BMW after successful completion of the program.  THE BMW SCHOLARS PROGRAM IS NOW TAKING APPLICATIONS.  COME TO GUIDANCE FOR DETAILS OR VISIT https://www.sccsc.edu/services/career/bmw.php.

Spartanburg Community Aviation Program
The Spartanburg Science Center is now taking applications for six scholarships, for students 16-20 years of age, for the Spartanburg Community Aviation Program.  This is a wonderful opportunity for any student that is interested in Aviation.

SCC Fast Pass to Your Future In House and Virtual Tours
Students interested in attending SCC are encouraged to register for one of SCC’s upcoming Fast Pass to your Future enrollment days. During your session, students will have the opportunity to hear from our program directors, complete their enrollment steps, meet with financial aid, and take a campus tour. Virtual Pharmacy Technician Training
PassAssured is offering Virtual Pharmacy Technician Training, which is designed for seniors and higher.  The training provides vital information needed to prepare for the pharmacy technician certification and meet state board of pharmacy criteria. Spartanburg Community College Virtual Tours and Appointments
Spartanburg Community College is currently offering several opportunities for your students to connect with Spartanburg Community College.  Individual tours are being provided in-person at a limited capacity.  Students can register for tours online at https://www.sccsc.edu/explore/campus-tours/index.php. Several chances for virtual engagements are also available, including virtual appointments with recruiters and virtual sessions for classes or groups.
