YouthPhilanBrian Linder and Megan Chance have been selected to serve as student representatives on United Way's Youth Philanthropy Board in Spartanburg County. The Youth Philanthropy Board is comprised of twelve to twenty-two high school juniors and seniors from Spartanburg County who demonstrate strong leadership abilities in their schools and communities.  As members of the board, Brian and Megan will have opportunities to learn about community indicators, to develop critical thinking and leadership skills, to connect with community leaders, and to gain hands-on experience with fund development and grant-making. From these experiences, they will gain an increased knowledge of the community, acquire stronger social skills, and gain an increased capacity to make a difference in their communities.  The Youth Philanthropy Board meets monthly.
