BHS_AthleticLogo1Skip Frye, Interim Athletic Director for Broome High School (BHS) and longtime cross country and track coach, will assume the additional responsibility of District Athletic Director beginning immediately.  Frye replaces Jet Turner, former football coach.  Frye had previously served as the school district’s athletic director from 2010 until 2014.  He has served as the school’s head coach for cross country and boys track since 1981.

Frye stated, “I cannot express how excited I am to be the A.D. at Broome High School. Broome has played such a huge role in my life. The staff and student athletes are so passionate about excelling in the classroom and the athletic fields. Recent hires show the commitment of Superintendent Kenny Blackwood and the School Board. I want that commitment to excellence to filter through me, through our coaches at all levels, to our student athletes, and into the community. When folks in this state think of excellence in Academics, Athletics, or facilities, I want Broome high School to pop into their mind.”

Rodney Graves, principal at BHS, said, “I am thrilled to have Skip Frye serving as our AD at Broome High School.  His years of dedicated service have prepared him to handle the demands of this position.  Coach Frye will help us grow all of our athletic programs at our middle schools and at the high school.  I look forward to working with Coach Frye. “
