Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is the nationally recognized anti-drug effort that delivers one of the most important messages students will ever receive: “We all have a choice to live a drug-free life.”  This year’s Red Ribbon theme is “You Only Live Once – Be Drug Free!”  Oct. 24 – 28 we will pledge and celebrate our commitment to say: “Yes” to a healthy lifestyle and successful future, and “No” to drugs.

JROTC Participate in Annual International Festival

International Festival

On Oct 1st, approximately twenty-five cadets from Broome High School AFJROTC program went to Barnett Park in Spartanburg to volunteer at the 30th Annual International Festival. The festival showcases food, merchandise and attraction booths from all over the world with each section of the park representing a different area of the world. The cadets worked different shifts helping out in every single aspect of the festival from set-up at 6:30 a.m. to tear-down at 10:00 p.m. They sold merchandise, worked in the food court, lead the Parade of Nations, and assisted any area requiring extra manpower. At the end of the festival, the cadets garnered over 179 hours of community service and averaged 6.8 hours per volunteer. Spartanburg’s International Festival is an exciting event and one that our cadets enjoy being a part of each year.
