Students selected a title from the list. These books were delivered to students on Wednesday, May 25.

Summer Reading Projects
Students will select and complete one of the projects on the list.  The completed project will be submitted to each student's CECIL teacher.  The due date for this project will be announced after the start of school.

Athletic Notes
Cross-Country
Broome Cross-Country practice starts on June 6 at 8:00 a.m. Athletes will meet at the back of the school on June 6 to start practice. Athletes must have a current physical on file before starting practice. Practice will be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. If you have any questions call Coach Skip Frye at 279-6801.


Attention Broome Class of 2016

At photographer will be at graduation to make pictures of seniors as they receive their diplomas.  These pictures will be available for the graduates three days after the graduation ceremonies. Announcement Regarding Snow Make-up Days

As required by state law and school district policy, Spartanburg School District 3 is required to make up all student instructional days lost because of snow, ice, and other emergency disruptions.

Friday, March 11 was used as a snow make-up day.  The second snow make-up day will be Tuesday, May 31, which will be the last day of school for students.

Friday, May 27 and Tuesday, May 31 will be half days for students.



Broome Wins a 2015 Gaston Caperton Opportunity Award

Gettys D. Broome High School in Spartanburg has been named a 2015 Gaston Caperton Opportunity Award school by the College Board for providing underrepresented students with the support they need to succeed academically. Gettys D. Broome is one of one of four high schools nationwide to receive the award in 2015 and will receive a $25,000 award to apply toward programs that encourage more students to attend college.
